Controls

A and D - Move left and right

Space - Jump (hold to jump higher)

Left Mouse Button - Toss a flame

Right Mouse Button - Slide (hold)

R - Restart the current level

Description

Wick is a platformer where you, a candle, must keep its wick lit whilst traversing a lonely cave.

Once your flame burns out, you'll die if you don't find a light source!

  • Your flame will decrease if you are outside any light sources.
  • Collect lanterns to increase your flame.
  • Water and mud both kill you if you fall in, but you can slide over mud!
  • Toss flames with the left mouse button to see what's ahead of you!
  • Slide with the right mouse button to cross mud!

This is pretty much our first time ever making a game, so please have mercy! But at the same time, I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say constructive feedback is appreciated.

The concept of going into the void with limited life was a fun concept. I found myself just memorizing the levels without throwing the flame as much though.

May want to make the [w] key also jump. I found the right click to space bar a bit awkward

Thanks for the feedback! Memorizing the levels is a valid strategy but I do think I should've tweaked the flame to be a little stronger, perhaps so it is more worth using it.

And for sure, more input options is never a bad idea.
